About me
Hello and welcome if you have managed to stumble across my blog!

First of all, I want to say that this is an entirely new venture of mine, blogging that is, and one I feel quite inadequate at when there are so many other great writers and bloggers out there. Also, please forgive the spelling and grammatical errors that you are bound to find.

Well, to tell you a little bit about me. I was born in a military hospital at Catterick, North Yorkshire (my Dad was not in the army). My Mum said that I came into the world in a hurry and I confess that even now patience is not one of my strong points.

Although I was born in North Yorkshire, it was East Yorkshire where I grew up, went to school, studied at University and trained to become an administrator, working in various different organisations including the NHS, a firm of accountants and solicitors – I have become quite good at reading illegible handwriting as a result!
I never thought I would leave my home town and I never would have imagined I would live in Newcastle but God obviously had different plans for me, for 3 years ago I applied for a job as a PA for a Christian Charity in the North East and have been there ever since.

Although I would say that I am Yorkshirewoman and an Administrator, my primary identity is that I am a Christian. I believe that there is a God who created the earth and everything in it. Furthermore, I believe he is completely holy. This is a really big problem as I am a hopeless sinner and therefore stand condemned. But the wonderful news is that God has taken the initiative in the person of his Son Christ Jesus who came into this world both fully God and fully man. Jesus was completely sinless and yet he willingly died a cruel death on a cross taking the punishment I deserve for my sin upon himself. Three days later he rose from the dead thereby defeating death and offering everlasting life for all those who repent of their sins and trust in him.

“For God so loved the world that he sent his only son that whoever believes in him shall not die but have eternal life” (John 3:16)
I am committed to a local church in Newcastle and love being part of a church family, worshiping, studying God’s word, praying, serving or just simply enjoying fellowship together.

When I am not at work, I enjoy photography (I have also created another website which I hope you will check out http://www.louisabratleyphotography.com/).
I also enjoy baking and cooking and it is my hope that I will be able to share some recipes on this blog. I also enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction and, in the last year, articles on the web (watch this space as I have in mind to add a section with a list or links to favourite authors and bloggers).

I hope you enjoy my blog.
